Welcome to Swordpunk

The UK’s original small festival where you can get up close and personal with sharp and dangerous objects and learn new skills. Including how to play safely with fire!

What is it?

Since 2013 Swordpunk has been providing a relaxed inclusive environment for would be adventurers to discover a vast array of new physical arts and abilities. Including various weapon and combat styles, circus skills, traditional crafts, dance and music workshops. With an emphasis on fun and community it’s a great place to gently push the boundaries of your comfort zone (or throw yourself headlong into something new if that’s more your style).

A Warm Welcome

Warm and friendly instructors will be happy to walk you through the basics during the daily sessions. The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down either. Spend your evenings chatting to old friends and new. Themed dress for the occasion is highly encouraged but not mandatory feel free to mingle amongst the vikings, medieval wanderers and troubadours in your hoodie. Although, if you do find yourself coming back (and most do), I would expect your wardrobe to grow. If only from the excellent merch available from the Swordpunk stores!

The Fire Show

Dress up for the closing night Swordpunk Fire Circle. Swashbuckling Games, Fire Performers, Drummers, and feasting and making merry with comrades old and new.

Repleat and relaxed, gather around the fire regaled by bards and musicians with songs and sagas well into the softness of night.

Knife & Axe Throwing

Come and try your hand at knife and axe throwing at Swordpunk. Learn the basics with experienced instructors, get a feel for different throwing techniques and enjoy the considerable satisfaction of making one stick. Sharp things, big targets and plenty of fun.

Sword Fighting

Come and have a go at sword fighting. Learn from experienced instructors, pick up some new skills and, most importantly, have fun. From training weapons to the sharp, strange and downright wonderful, there’ll be plenty to get your hands on.

Whip-Cracking

Come and try whip cracking. Learn the basics with experienced instructors, get the technique right and work your way towards that unmistakable crack. It’s loud, surprisingly addictive and a lot of fun to learn.
